The eagerly awaited Britney Spears and Elton John duet is soon to arrive.

The 75-year-old music icon surprised fans on Friday by revealing the cover art and release date for their next duet, "Hold Me Closer," with the pop singer. The song's chorus features the lyric "Hold me closer, small dancer," from Elton's famous "Tiny Dancer," which he published in 1971.

John just added the hashtags "August 26 #HoldMeCloser" and a red rose and spacecraft emoji to his Instagram image. The two painters are depicted on the cover painting as little children.

Spears is shown in the photo as a little child wearing white tights and a two-toned pink frock with frills and feathers. On the other side, John is sitting at a piano with a big smile on his face, donning a dark jacket and shorts. The second image in the slideshow is a picture of the two taken on February 24, 2013, in West Hollywood, California, during the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party.

Spears still hasn't mentioned the duet on her Instagram. Paris Hilton, a friend of the artist, however, described the song as "iconic" in a recent interview.

"It will be legendary. It's incredible, I only heard it a few days ago in Ibiza," Hilton added.

Six years have passed since Spears last put out an album. In August 2016, she released "Glory." She did, however, issue a deluxe edition in 2020 that featured "Matches," a previously unreleased duet between Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys.

A.J. The boy band's McLean announced in an Instagram post in 2020 that the song was recorded in 2017. The Backstreet Boys had initially planned to include the song on their last album, "DNA," but they finally decided against it. After hearing the song, Spears made the decision to record it herself while retaining the Backstreet Boys' vocals.

Since her 13-year conservatorship officially ended in November 2021, fans have been waiting impatiently for new Spears songs. She has been posting videos of herself singing over the past few months, and her followers have been raving about them.
