After being put into a coma as a result of a terrible brain injury sustained in a skiing accident in 2013, Michael Schumacher's family has kept his health a secret.

Corinna Schumacher, Michael Schumacher's wife, sobbed when providing a rare report on her husband's health.

Since his family removed him from the hospital so he could finish his treatment at home in privacy, the Formula One icon has been kept out of the public eye. The German spent more than six months in a coma after suffering a terrible brain injury in a skiing accident back in 2013.

Although he has since awakened and has even traveled, Schumacher still spends the most of his time at home where his family, including his wife Corinna, takes care of him. He hasn't been seen in public since the accident, and they have always kept their discussions about his health secret.

But in a sad acceptance speech for the North Rhine-Westphalia State Prize, Mrs. Schumacher acknowledged that her husband had changed. "Every day, Michael is missed. I'm not the only one who misses him, but "Corinna cried while trying to speak.

"Everyone around,t he kids, the family, his father. Everyone misses Michael, but he is still here. He is different, but he is here, and I think that gives us courage.

"We attempt to maintain our family in the same way that Michael did and still does. We are moving forward with our lives. Private matters, he would usually say.

I think it's critical that he maintain as much of his private life as possible. Michael always kept us safe, and now we are keeping Michael safe.

Michael Schumacher’s former manager claims that the family of the Formula One champion has been feeding him "lies" about his health.

Former Michael Schumacher manager Willi Weber claims that the German legend's family has been spreading "lies" to him about the seven-time F1 champion's health.

Schumacher has not been seen in public since suffering a nearly fatal head injury while skiing in the French resort of Meribel in December 2013.

Since his wife Corinna swore to maintain his privacy while he heals at home in Switzerland, his health has been kept a secret for the past nine years.

Over time, tidbits of information have surfaced; most recently, Schumacher's close friend and former Ferrari CEO Jean Todt expressed optimism for the 53-year-eventual old's recovery; yet, overall, the public has been kept in the dark regarding Schumacher's health.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport this week, Weber said that since Schumacher's terrifying skiing accident, he has been unable to see him.

The 80-year-old added, "I called Corinna hundreds of times, but she never answered."

When I phoned Jean Todt to inquire whether I should visit the hospital, he advised me to wait because it was still too early.

"I called the next day, but nobody picked up. I'm still upset about it since I didn't anticipate that kind of behavior. They kept me outside by saying it was too early; nonetheless, it is now too late. Nine years have passed. Perhaps they ought to just speak things as they are.

"At first, I could appreciate the predicament since I always did all in my power to safeguard Michael's privacy. However, they have just told us falsehoods since since.

Since the catastrophe, Corinna has jealously guarded her husband and discussed how the family has coped with the tragic event over the past eight years, including the couple's son Mick and daughter Gina.

Michael has arrived. That gives us power, in my opinion," Corinna said in the Netflix documentary SCHUMACHER. "He's different, but he's here.

"We are a unit. At home, we share a residence. We offer counseling. We make every effort to improve Michael's condition and provide for his comfort. merely to convey to him our sense of unity and family.

And I'll exert every effort, no matter what. Everyone will.

"We're working to maintain our family unit in the manner that Michael preferred and still prefers. We are moving forward with our lives.

He constantly remarked, "Private is private. I think it's crucial that he be able to maintain as much of his private life as possible.

"Michael always kept us safe, and now we keep Michael safe."

Piero Ferrari, vice-chairman of the renowned car maker and the son of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari, gave an insight into Schumacher's health when speaking at an awards event in Rome last year.

He apologized, "I'm sorry we talk about him today as if he were dead." He is not dead; he is here but unable to speak.

Piero briefly discussed his friendship with Schumacher as well.

The two of us had a bottle of red wine while Schumacher was a guest at my house, he said.

He thoroughly appreciated the solitude and closeness of these times.
